Instructions for Registration: Student Training and Technician Training Programmes
Program Overview
Introduction:
The Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, in collaboration with the Kerala Biotechnology Commission (KBC), KSCSTE, is pleased to announce the DBT Skill Vigyan State Partnership Programme in Biotechnology and Life Sciences. This initiative aims to enhance skills and knowledge in the fields of biotechnology and life sciences. The program is executed in Kerala, with the participation of 15 state academic and research institutions.
Training Programs:
1. Student Training
Duration: Three months
Target Participants: Plus 2 students, graduates, and postgraduates (varies with the course)
Focus Areas: Diverse biotechnology fields
Training Experience: Hands-on and stipendiary
2. Technician Training
Duration: Three months
Target Participants: Plus 2 students, graduates, and postgraduates (varies with the course)

Collaborative Partners:
The program is developed in collaboration with four prominent Sector Skill Councils under the Government of India:
- Life Science Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC)
- Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI)
- Food Industry Capacity and Skill Initiative (FICSI)
- Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC)
Curriculum Alignment:
The curriculum for these programmes aligns with the Qualification Packages (QPs) established by the Sector Skill Councils. These QPs are tailored to meet industry requirements, ensuring that participants gain practical skills and knowledge relevant to the current needs of the biotechnology sector.
Eligibility Criteria:
The programme is open to plus 2 students, graduates, and postgraduates in biotechnology and allied subjects. Specific courses may have additional eligibility criteria. Please refer to the course details for specific eligibility requirements.
Application Process:
Interested candidates are required to fill out the online application form. Review the list of courses and corresponding partnering institutions. Carefully choose the program and institute that aligns with your interests and qualifications. Gather all necessary supporting documents, which include scanned copies of educational certificates, a passport-sized photograph, and a caste certificate, if applicable. Submit the completed registration form along with the supporting documents as per the instructions provided in the registration form. Ensure that you indicate your preferred training programmes and institutes.
Registration fee:
A unified registration process applies to those interested in both the student and technician training programs. A mandatory single payment of the registration fee of Rs. 750/- is required for individuals applying to either or both of the student and technician training initiatives under the DBT Skill Vigyan Programme. A 50% reduction, i.e., Rs. 375/-, is applicable for students in the SC/ST category and those with Physical Disability.

Selection Process:
Applications will undergo a thorough review.
A mandatory online exam will be conducted for the selection process.
